I sign as Thalz, with the Z marking a renewal for the second chapter of my life !

I have been working with clay for several years now, and with humility I pursue my dream, approaching sculpture through observation. This passion was born upon my return from a fabulous trip to West Africa more than 20 years ago. My path is unconventional. As a civil engineer for three decades, I designed and managed infrastructure projects.

Alongside my career, as a self-taught artist I discovered what has become my passion – sculpture. Far from being opposed, these two worlds nourish each other. Whether designing a project or shaping a form, in both cases it is about bringing a vision to life, solving problems of balance, material, and space.

I create for pleasure – the pleasure of clay – and to meet myself in this gentle meditative process. I love expressing movement in the representation of the human body and conveying a message, but above all I hope that my sculptures can touch, move, and provoke reflection.
