I am Nathalie Bellier (Thalz), a sculptor. I work with bronze to explore human duality. Welcome to my website and to my studio !
For me sculpting is about carrying a message, and it is also a meditative act.
Between nature and humanity, my works are born from the human questions that inhabit us. What inhabits me most of all is human duality – this tension between fragility and strength, destruction and resilience. This is what I aim to shed light on through two global crises: women’s rights, this unfinished struggle, and climate change, another manifestation of our collective vulnerability.
The human body as a universal language, bronze as a witness to time.
I work with clay to create forms that resonate and provoke reflection. The human body becomes my universal language for expressing these issues: through movement, that fragile balance between momentum and restraint; and through posture, that tension between strength and vulnerability. Bronze, a material that has endured through the centuries, becomes a timeless witness to both our fragility and our humanity.
My sculptures thus oscillate between the timeless—through their classical style and millennia-old bronze—and the urgency of our era, through resolutely contemporary themes.
